Rosalie C. Mixson, 85, faithful servant of Christ, widow of John Boyd Mixson, of Ladson, went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 26, 2022.
Rosalie was born in Charleston, South Carolina on July 17, 1937. She was the daughter of Barnwell Rhett and Marie Stewart Greer Chaplin.
The relatives and friends of Rosalie Mixson are invited to attend her Memorial Service at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Parks Funeral Home Chapel, 130 W. 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday evening, September 2, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to your local Meals on Wheels.
Rosalie was a member of Calvary Chapel. She was a stay-at-home mom until the death of her husband then began a career in retail. She retired from Burlington Coat Factory. She was a puzzle enthusiast and published author of the children's book "Fly Alot." She loved being of service to others which included delivering the daily newspapers to the residents at Oakbrook Towers.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Mixson Starnes (Kent), Nancy Mixson Davis (Ken), and three sons Leonard, Kenneth (Patricia) and Dennis Mixson (Barbara). Grandchildren, Cassandra Starnes Teachey (Steve), Elise Starnes Key (Matt), Jonathan Mixson, Jessie Mixson (Elisha), 6 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and three brothers Barnwell Rhett Chaplin Jr, Edwin Greer Chaplin and Robert Warren Chaplin.
