Rosa M. “Rose” (Martins) Miranda, 68, of Fall River, MA, wife of Carlos Miranda, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
Born in Aldeia Nova, Mangualde, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Antonio Martins and the late Etelvina (Cunha) Martins.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a quality inspector in the local textile industry for many years. She was a passionate gardener, and took pride in watching her flowers bloom and vegetables sprout. She also enjoyed cooking large meals for family, and day trips to the casino. A devout Catholic, she was a long-time parishioner of Holy Trinity Church, faithfully attended Mass, and prayed the rosary, daily. Most important to Rose was spending quality time with all her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she leaves her three loving daughters, Nancy Johnson and her husband, Mark, of Fall River, Diane Matheus and her husband, David, of Taunton, and Vanessa Hart and her husband, Jameson, of Swansea; her four grandchildren, Emma Plante, Mya Johnson, Neely Matheus, and David Matheus, Jr.; her sisters, Aurora Viegas, Fatima Melo, Pam Horan, Adelaide Farias and Fern Camara; two brothers, Jose C. Martins and Gabriel C. Martins; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 8, 2022 to be celebrated in Holy Trinity Church, 951 Stafford Rd., Fall River, at 10:00 AM. Committal and Interment will take place in Notre Dame Cemetery. Gathering at funeral home prior to Mass is private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
