Ronnie Stephen Johnson of Eastover, NC, passed from his earthly life during the morning hours of Wednesday, June 1, 2022, while at home. Born on March 5, 1953, he is the son of the late Ivey Lee and Hazel Pearl Maxwell Johnson. Also preceding him in death are a son?Brandon Herrington; and siblings?Jerry Allen Johnson and Patricia Johnson Rogers.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife?Cheryl Ann Dyroff Johnson of the home; children?Amanda Johnson of Clinton, Erica Cuff and husband David of Charlotte, Lara Johnson of Roseboro, Ashlyn Coble and husband Stephen of Holly Springs, Tiffany Pafford and husband Cliff of Fayetteville, , Michael Dyroff of Raleigh, and Robert Lands of Orange Park (FL); fourteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings?Polly Reese of Georgia, Daisy Chestnut of Delway; Judy Wilson of New Bern, Ivey Johnson Jr. and wife Betty Sue of Delway, Geraldine Wells and husband Milton of Wallace, Rita Hudson of Wallace, and Pam Merritt and husband George of Magnolia; and a great number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Johnson was born and raised in Duplin County. He lived his life with a simple philosophy, one cannot have too many friends. He embodied this philosophy in both his personal and professional life. At home, he was known for loving the North Carolina Tarheels and being a NASCAR fan. At work, he was known as a leader and friend to many in the automobile industry. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate his life is set for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022, in the Rockfish Presbyterian Church, 6270 South NC Hwy 41, Wallace, NC. The family will greet friends at a visitation preceding the service at 2:00 p.m. at the church with interment in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.
