RONNA LOU BECKMANN
EDINBURG - Ronna Lou Beckmann, 75, died June 11, 2020, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, Texas of surgical complications.
She was born July 3, 1944, in Washington, Iowa to John Robert Barnhart and Hazel Mae Crawford.
Ronna is preceded in death by her parents, John & Hazel Barnhart; her father-in-law, Vernon Henry Beckmann.
She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Henry Beckmann; a son, Brooke Robert Beckmann; two granddaughters, Hana Ray Beckmann and Zoey Jade Beckmann, all of Portland, Oregon; a brother, Jerald (Margo) Barnhart of Greeley, Colorado; her mother-in-law, Mary Beckmann of Mechanicsville, Iowa; her brothers-in-law, Thomas (Ruth) Beckmann of Tipton, Iowa, and John (Roxie) Beckmann of Mechanicsville, Iowa.
Ronna moved with her parents from Crawfordsville, Iowa to Tipton, Iowa in 1960. She graduated from Tipton High school in 1962. Following graduation she attended St. Luke's Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she graduated in 1965. She married Raymond Beckmann in August 29, 1965, and after their marriage Ronna worked at the MHI in Independence, Iowa. Ray completed his senior year of college at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa. After his graduation they moved to the Cresco, Iowa area, where Ray taught school and farmed. Ronna was employed at a Mental Health Center, she continue her career at Evans Memorial Home and Howard County Hospital in Cresco, Iowa, and she spent the las 15 years of her career at the Mayo Medical Center in Rochester, Minnesota.
Ronna was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid golfer, bridge player, and reader. Ronna loved spending her winters with Ray at Palmhurst, Texas from 2000 to 2015. In 2015 they moved permanently to Edinburg, Texas.
According to her wishes Ronna will be cremated with no services to follow.
