Ronald B. Smith 90, of Estero, FL died Thursday, November 10, 2022 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born December 30, 1931 in Scranton, PA the only child of the late Leon and Florence (Miles) Smith. A lifelong resident of Scranton, he moved to Estero, FL in 2005.
He was a graduate of Central High School class of 1949 and received his Associate's degree from Lackawanna Business College. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army.
He spent most of his career with Fitchburg Coated Products and retired in 1993 as their Purchasing Manager after 30 years with the company.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda Smith of Estero, FL; his two daughters, Kim Ann Nealon (Kenneth) of Factoryville, PA and Lynn Smith of Scranton, PA; stepson, Paul R. Stephens, Jr. (Michelle) of Taylor, PA; five grandchildren, Casey Nealon (Judy), Megan Wilson (Drew), Kathleen Nealon, Jackson Stephens and Maximus Stephens and one great-grandson, Blake Stephens.
He will be laid to rest at Fairview Memorial Gardens at a later date.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory be made to Joanne's House at Hope Hospice 27100 Imperial Pkwy., Bonita Springs, FL 34135.
