Ronald C. Pigott, 88, of Indian River, Michigan, died December 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by family in Indian River. He was born to David and Mildred (Hoffman) Pigott on March 23, 1934 in Highland Park, Michigan.
Ronald grew up in Wyandotte, Michigan and attended school at St. Patrick's School class of 1952 and Henry Ford Trade School. He then enlisted in the US Army as a reservist. Afterwards, Ron worked as a tool-maker for 35 years at GM Cadillac.
On June 25th, 1960, Ron married Patricia Ann Fredericks in Wyandotte, Michigan.
Ron was a devout Catholic who attended Cross in the Woods Shrine in Indian River. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping and boating with his family. Later in life, he especially loved boating on Burt Lake. Always a student of history, he enjoyed books on the U.S. Military and Navy. Ron enjoyed taking vacations with his brothers and sisters and their spouses, including trips to Ireland and Up North. Most of all he loved spending time with his beloved wife of 62 years, their 4 children and spouses, and 9 grandchildren.
Ronald loved reading, camping, boating, collecting die-cast tanks, airplanes, and model building. He was a proud member of the UAW and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, children; Patrick (Jennifer), Anne (Douglas) Gilpatrick, Jennifer (Daniel) Cleary, John (Carleen). Grandchildren; Kathleen, Molly, Aidan, Liam, Rowan, Benjamin, Ella, James, and Matthew. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Robert, David Jr., and Kenneth.
Services for Ronald will be led by Fr. Patrick Maher at the Cross in the Woods Catholic Shire on Saturday December 17, 2022. Visitation will start at 10am with the funeral mass at 11am.
Family suggests memorials to Cross in the Woods, McLaren Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
