Ronald "Pat" Simmons, 89, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Healthwin Specialized Care of South Bend.
He was born on October 15, 1928 to the late Pat and Ella (Bowers) Simmons in Union Mills, IN, and had three sisters and six brothers. He lived in the South Bend area most of his life.
Pat graduated in 1948 from Riley High School in South Bend, IN, and then enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served his country from 1951 through 1953.
He was a retired Pipe Fitter and a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, and worked in the Heating and Cooling Industry, for many years.
Pat is survived by his daughter, Kelley (Dale) Bauer of Naperville, IL; his son, Michael (Karen) Simmons of Holland, MI; four grandchildren, Alec Bauer; Jordan Bauer; Skylar (Amber) Simmons; Greg (Abigail) Simmons; and four great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. Private services will take place at a later date.
