Ronald Meenes of Portsmouth, NH, formerly of Worcester and Framingham, MA, was born on January 18, 1940 in Worcester, MA, to Charlotte (Greengus) and Lewis Meenes, the oldest of four children. He died on February 4, 2021. Ron attended school in Worcester. He worked for many years with his father and uncle as an industrial caterer. He was part of the "Crazy Eight," eight crazy friends who remained friends to this day and are all still "Crazy." He met his wife Joyce (Rottenberg) in 1963 and they were married for 52 years. They lived in Framingham when Ron switched careers, first into retail, and then purchasing an ice cream truck, which he operated until his retirement. In 2019, Ron and Joyce moved to Portsmouth, NH. Ron is survived by his wife, Joyce, two loving sons Scott of Framingham, Jeffrey of Shrewsbury and his wife, Nataly, two cherished grandchildren, Max and Erika, his sister, Rosalie Barsky of Holliston, his sweet little dog Molly, and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and twin sisters, Roberta and Dorothy Meenes. He was a member of Temple Israel of Portsmouth. Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 7, at the Temple Israel Cemetery on Banfield Road. Services are private due to Covid. Shiva minyanim will be held via Zoom at 5:30 pm, on Monday, February 8, and Tuesday, February 9. The regular Zoom service link will be used. Non-temple members can "register" on the temple website calendar for Monday evening to receive the Zoom link.
