Mr. Ronald Lee "Ron" Mahoney, age 73, of Indianapolis, Indiana, entered this life on June 9, 1949 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Norman Delbert and Bonnie Jean Andrew Mahoney. He was raised in Madison and later Tell City and graduated in 1967 from Tell City High School. He then attended Vincennes University and received an Associates degree in Civil Engineering. On January 16, 1970 Ron was united in marriage to Beth Denning in Evansville, Indiana. This union of 47 years was blessed with a daughter, Stacy and a son, Chad. Ron had worked in the Coal Mines as a surveyor for 35 years having worked with AMAX, Peabody, and Black Beauty Mines. He resided in Linton, Indiana until moving to Indianapolis in 2010 to be near his grandchildren. He was a member of the LifePoint Church in Indianapolis and volunteered at St. Francis Hospital. Ron loved to play golf, fish, and playing cards with his family and friends. He so enjoyed his grandchildren and attending their events. Ron went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 11:17 a.m. at the Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Ron will be missed by his loving son, Chad Mahoney and his wife, Amy of Indianapolis, Indiana; his loving daughter, Stacy Mahoney of Washington, Indiana; his adoring grandchildren, Aaron Lee Mahoney and Samantha Roos Mahoney; his brothers, David M. Mahoney and his wife, Diane of Tell City, Indiana, Darrell G. Mahoney of Madison, Indiana, Rick K. Mahoney and his wife, Cheri of Noblesville, Indiana, Patrick Mahoney of Jackson, Tennessee; his sister, Norma Jean Mahoney of Madison, Indiana; his brother in law and sister in law, Doug Davis and Susie Davis both of Crestview Hills, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Delbert Mahoney, died March 10, 1969 and Bonnie Jean Andrew Mahoney, died March 23, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow at a later date in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky. Friends may visit Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
