passed away November 2, 2020, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ron was born January 5, 1933, to Edward and Esther (Lindblade) Hauser in Chicago, IL. He grew up in Chicago, attended Nazareth Lutheran Grade School, and graduated from Gage Park High School in 1950. He then attended Concordia University Chicago, IL, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 1954. He later returned to Concordia and earned his Master of Education and his Master of Church Music degrees.
On June 23, 1956, he married Arlene Maier, and together they shared a lifetime dedicated to their family and to their work in the church as Lutheran schoolteachers.
Ron served as teacher and principal, as well as organist and choir director in a number of congregations. His calls included: Trinity, West Seneca, NY, 1954-1958; Peace, Chicago, IL, 1958-1968; St. Johns, LaGrange, IL, 1968-1988; and Immanuel, Bay City, Michigan, from 1988-1999. After retiring from teaching, Ron continued on as organist and choir director at Immanuel, Bay City, and at Trinity/St. James, Munger, Michigan.
He will be remembered for his faith and his love of music, which he passed down not only to his family but to many, many students as well.
Ron is survived by his wife of 64 years, Arlene; daughters Lynn (Bruce) Little, Beth Peterson, and Ellen Hauser; grandchildren Chal (Krystal Poppe) Little, Nathan (Milly) Little, Katharine Little, Caroline Little, Britta (Israel Sanchez) Reitman, Lars Peterson, Bjorn (Whitney) Peterson, Inga (Gary) Olson, and Maya Nepos; great-grandchildren Logan and Eleanor Olson.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and his mother and father-in-law, Lillian and Earl Maier.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 11:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church 701 Washington Avenue Grafton, Wisconsin 53024. Pastor Scott Kruse will officiate. Visitation will be held at Eernisse Funeral Home 1167 Washington Avenue Cedarburg, Wisconsin 53012 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Private inurnment to take place at St. Paul Cemetery.
The family is requesting that memorials be sent to the organ fund at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bay City, Michigan, or to Luther Manor Foundation, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
