On Friday, August 20th 2021, Ronald D. Livesay, aged 79, of Six Mile, SC formerly of Westminster, MD, passed peacefully at home with his wife and daughter by his side. Born January 12, 1942 in Blackwater Virginia, he was the son of the late Thurman Livesay and Ollie Osborne Livesay. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Verna Livesay. She dedicated her life to caring for the man who stole her heart many years ago. She honored him in sickness and in health, providing him with constant loving attention and care.
Ronald honorably served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Boxer from 1960 until 1964.
He worked at Black and Decker for 23 years and then retired from Carroll County Road Operations after 18 years in 2005. As founding members of the League of MD Horsemen, Ronald and Verna shared their love of horses, trail riding and camping with close friends for decades. After retiring, they traveled out West to see God's country and cruised the Bahamas. They relocated to Six Mile, SC at the end of 2009 and continued to travel out West and take trips camping with his brother-in-law Jack, their last trip was in 2017. He was a member of Mile Creek Baptist Church in Six Mile, SC. Ronald found true joy in spoiling his daughter Tonyia, and then as "Pop" while loving on his grandbabies and great-grandbabies. He was a hard worker and a great napper. He loved sweets and would never turn down a Reese's Cup or Hoffman's ice cream. His sense of humor and his laughter will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughter and son-in-law, Tonyia and Ronald Stewart, of Central, SC. Granddaughter, Jessica Stokes and her husband Nate, and great grandchildren Lukas and Charlie Stokes of Seneca, SC. Grandson, James "Dylan" Stewart and his wife Alyssa, and great grandchildren Mazy and Bryson Stewart of Woodstock, IL. And sister and brother-in-law Mary and Robert Killett of Sykesville, MD and other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sister Judy Buchanan of Elizabethton, TN and brother James Livesay of Hanover, PA.
