It is with a heavy heart and great sadness to say that Ronald Dean Greenwood passed away on March 10, 2021 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was 59.
He leaves behind his devoted wife Mary (nee Lasek) and his beloved son Nicklaus. He is the beloved son of Joan Greenwood and the late Terry Greenwood and beloved brother of Joann Shannahan, Terry Greenwood, Jr., and Denise Rogers. He is son-in-law to Barbara Lasek whom he adored.
Ron was known as the "Turtle Man" because of the great love, care and pride he gave to his large family of box turtles.
Ron is an Army veteran, a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion Post 148 where he held past positions of Judge Advocate and Chaplin. He gave guidance to both local and regional levels. He gave selfless support to the Gold Star Mothers and the Gold Star families as well.
Ron is the founding member of "Hot Rods for Heroes" which devotes its support to veterans, fallen heroes and their families.
His ashes will be interred at The Baltimore National Cemetery with military honors.
