Ronald E. "Ronnie" Gendron Sr, age 80, passed away on January 20, 2021 after a brief illness. He was born on January 25, 1940 in Lowell, MA, the son of the late Wilbrod and Gertrude (Baril) Gendron. Ron graduated from Dracut High School. He served in the Army and Army Reserve as an auto maintenance helper from 1963 to 1968. He worked at Coca Cola in Northampton as a machine operator for over 20 years. Ron was a hard-working individual and jack of all trades. He always made himself available to help others anytime, anywhere. He enjoyed sports, especially hockey, and was an avid Bruins, Patriots, and Red Sox fan. One of the greatest joys of his life was watching his sons play hockey.
He leaves his loving wife of 58 years, Elizabeth "Betty" (Lussier) Gendron of Easthampton; a son Ronald Gendron Jr and his wife Brenda of Easthampton; a son Scott Gendron and his wife Christine of Feeding Hills; a son Keith Gendron of Easthampton and a son Jeffrey Gendron and his partner Laura Bergantino of Easthampton. He also leaves 5 grandchildren; Justin and his wife Leah, Kasandra, Nathaniel, Noah and Mikayla and 4 great grandchildren; Sage, Asa, Lucia and Xander along with several nieces and nephews. He is survived by his siblings; Frederick Gendron and his wife Jane; Marjorie Raza and her husband Roland; Joan Talbot and her husband Robert; Paul Gendron and his wife Andrea; Joseph Gendron and his wife Lin-Jun; and Robert Gendron and his wife Ginger.
A Funeral Mass will be held on February 6th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 33 Adams Street, Easthampton, MA. with Live Streaming of the Liturgy, facebook.com/olveasthampton.org. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Cemetery, Mayher St, in Easthampton. Face masks are required, along with social distancing at all times while attending services.
