Ronald "Ron" Amonett, AKA "Amo," 80, of Odessa, died Sunday, March 13, 2022 in Midland. He was born September 15, 1941 in Flomot, TX to Clyde and Juanita Amonett. He graduated from Lamesa High School in 1959. He retired from Sewell Ford in 2006 after 38 years of service.
Ron is survived by his wife, Linda; beloved pet, Peanut; sons, Brent Amonett of Leander and Jimmy Wolsch and wife April of Kyle; daughters, Theresa Simpkins and husband Kevin of Odessa and Tina Wolsch of Austin; grandchildren, Hailey and Austin Reynolds and Lindsey Simpkins of Odessa and Spencer and Joshua Wolsch of Austin; sisters, Jerri Williams and husband Gary of Lamesa and Diann Napper and husband Terry of Kerrville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his son, Blake Amonett; parents; and brother, Johnny Amonett.
Some of Ron's favorite pastimes were MOJO football, Texas college football and the Dallas Cowboys. Along with reading westerns and Texas history, you could always find him working crossword puzzles. He also loved going to his pecan orchard in Pleasant Farms with his buddies, Stanley and Sonny.
After retirement, he and his wife loved to travel and gamble at different casinos. His family lost a loving, caring and giving husband, father, grandpa and brother. The world lost a good man.
At his request, there will be no memorial service.
