Roger Sovern, 75, Norman Station, rode to his "End of The Trail" November 28,2019. He was born July 7,1944 to Robert and Ruth Sovern of Jackson County. Roger worked 30+ years at Cummins in Columbus. He enjoyed raising a big garden, hunting, fishing, as well as raising and riding horses. He started Circle S Horse Camp in Norman, where he enjoyed sitting around the campfire tellin' tall tales and sharing a jar of cowboy creek water, hence the tall tales. He is survived by his wife Slim Sovern, his brother Randell Sovern of Scipio , who he aggravated relentlessly into adulthood, his little sister Tanya Sovern of Norman who he taught to cuss and spit at a young age, 3 daughters, 3 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and his faithful sidekick Dottie Dee. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bob (Bud), and 2 daughters: Ragina and Robin. Viewing will be Wednesday from 4-8 pm at Jones Funeral Home in Heltonville. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date with a tree planting at that time.
