Roger A. Marcoux, 75, died Friday September 25, 2020 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor.
He was born July 5, 1945 in Lewiston, ME a son of Roger J. and Lorraine (LaBrie) Marcoux. He grew up in and attended school in Lewiston, graduating from Lewiston High School. While managing King's Department store in Claremont, NH in 1972, he met and fell in love with Donna Wallace. They lived in several states while Roger managed various Howard Johnson's Restaurants. They were married March 20, 1976 and settled in Windsor where they purchased and operated the Brunch Bar diner on Main Street for several years. After selling the diner Roger worked for a time as a carpenter and then began driving bus for Vermont Transit, retiring in 2013.
Roger enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, gardening, camping, and fishing, especially trips to Pulaski, NY to fish for salmon. He was a jack of all trades and also enjoyed woodworking and working on his cars. Most all Roger enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was a life member of the Windsor Elks and a member of the American Legion, also in Windsor.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, of forty-four years; daughter Aimee Herschel (Chad) of Huntington, VT; granddaughter Dakota Herschel (Silas LaBelle) and great granddaughter Josie LaBelle; a brother Thomas Marcoux (Rose) of Maryland; mother-in-law Gertrude Russell; brothers-in-law Gary Wallace (Kathy), Calvin Wallace and James Russell as well as nieces Allison and Andrea, nephew Chad and great nephew Joel.
Visiting hours will be held from 11AM - 1 PM on Saturday October 24th at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor with an Elks Service at 1PM followed by committal in the St. Francis Cemetery with honors provided by the Windsor American Legion.
