Roger R. Borchert of Aitkin, passed away at his home Monday, September 26, 2022. He was born February 14, 1937 in Neenah, Wisconsin the son of Rudolph and Viola (Westfahl) Borchert. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Roger was united in marriage to May Strehlow on February 10, 1956 in Fremont, Wisconsin. He worked at Neenah Paper Mill and with his dad doing land drainage in Wisconsin until 1963 when they moved to Minnesota and formed a corporation - Borchert Contractors. He worked there until 1984 when they sold the company. In 1987 he and the Nelson's started HGR Sod Farm in Aitkin. He worked there until retirement in 2007. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, and playing cards. He was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church in Aitkin. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Donna Boelter, 2 brothers-in-law, and his nephew Jeff Boelter.

Funeral service will be 11:00am - Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Aitkin. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
