Mr. Roger J. Amyot, 71, of Pembroke, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family after a long period of declining health.
Born in Brownington, VT, Roger was the son of the late William J. and Blanche (Gamelin) Amyot. He was a resident of Pembroke for most of his life.
Prior to his retirement, Roger was employed as a backhoe operator for Granite State Curb Setters. He also worked as a truck mechanic for several years.
He was a longtime member of the Suncook Valley Rod & Gun Club. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars, trucks or anything mechanical.
Roger's family wishes to thank the VNA of Concord, especially Jodi and Genevieve, as well as the skilled and compassionate care given to Roger and the support to his family by the Bayada Home Hospice Team, especially Connie, R.N., Jocelyn, R.N. and Shelley, L.N.A.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter: Kasey Griffin, his sister: Simone Baum and brother-in-law: Arthur Baum.
Roger is survived by his wife, Lucille (Gauthier) Amyot; his children: Brenda Potter and Scott Amyot and his fianc? Jhen all of Pembroke; his granddaughter: Amanda Norton and her husband Rodney; his great grandson, Lucas Potter; and his siblings: Girard Amyot of Pembroke, Ernest Amyot and his wife Phyllis of Concord and Lucille LeBlanc and her husband Richard St. of Pembroke. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends, including his lifelong friend, Peter Roy.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 19th at 10 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. Services will conclude at St. John the Baptist Cemetery Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roger's memory may be made to Boston Children's Hospital in honor of his granddaughter, Kasey, 300 Longwood Avenue Boston, MA 02115.
