The family of Robert William "Bill" Snell are saddened to announce his passing on August 5, 2024, at his home in Raymond, NH, at 74 years-old. He was born on November 16, 1949 in Lowell, MA, to the late Robert A. Snell and Phyllis (Briggs) Snell. He was "Bill" to friends and family, Dad to his girls, but his favorite title was of course, Papa.
Bill is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Patricia (Patton) Snell, his daughters Sara (Eric) Hartwell and Stephanie (Tony) Walters, the lights of his life, his grandchildren Gabriel, Chloe, and Jacob Whelan, Emily, Parker and Oliver Hartwell, and his brother Thomas Snell.
Other than his family, Bill was proud to be a veteran of the US Army. He bravely served in Vietnam, earning the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1969, having made his family and country proud.
Bill loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending his days of retirement walking with his best friend, his dog Scrappy.
In honor of Bill's life and legacy, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday August 18, 2024 at 1pm at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 2 Epping St., Raymond, NH, with a private burial immediately to follow.
