With sadness, we share with you the passing of Robert Francis Schwindt. Bob was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and educated at the University of Cincinnati, the University of Michigan, and the executive program of Columbia University. He served in the armored division of the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Bob later joined Union Carbide Corporation and was transferred to oversee Union Carbide's operations in Latin America, before he returned to their corporate headquarters in New York and then Danbury, Connecticut. In 1985, Bob joined Boehringer Mannheim Corporation in Indianapolis, where he served as Vice President of Administration and Finance. He was later named CEO of its United States operations.
Since 1997, Bob has been a resident of Naples, Florida and a member of Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church. Bob was an avid fisherman and reader. He was an incredible man who was loved by many.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bell; three children, Christopher, Jeffrey and Erica; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; and sister, Carol Schwindt.
