Robert "Bob" D. Rozelle, age 81, of Haines City, FL, passed away after a short illness on December 18, 2024. Born on July 30, 1943, in Hudson, MI to Donald and Irene (Adams) Rozelle, Bob lived in Hudson for many years before moving to Mason, MI and then later to Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Bob was a devoted husband to his wife of 55 years, Diana (Miller) Rozelle. He was a beloved father to Rob (Chrissy), Randy (Angie), and Susan. His grandchildren Kayla, Ethan, and Adam brought him great joy. Bob also had many cousins and friends he held dear as well as his church family.
Serving the majority of his career as a civilian for the Michigan State Police, Bob retired from Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) Field Services in 2002. He was proud of his work there and will be missed by many former coworkers.
Outside of work, Bob enjoyed spending time in his garden. Other interests included working on his Allis Chalmers tractors, flying small planes, fishing, listening to music, and enthusiastically cheering on the Michigan Wolverines. Most of all, Bob loved being surrounded by his family and was happy just being in their presence. With his unique sense of humor, Bob will be remembered for his one-liners as well as serenading his family when listening to his favorite songs.
Bob had a heart for Jesus Christ and was a dedicated witness to those he came in contact with. His favorite verse was Psalm 46:10 (NIV): "Be still, and know that I am God..." He found comfort in these words many times throughout his life. Bob is greatly missed by his family and all who knew him; his family finds solace knowing that he is at peace and they will be reunited in heaven.
A local service for Bob will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church (4450 Harden Blvd, Lakeland, FL) at 4:00 PM with visitation starting at 3:30 PM.
Further arrangements for a memorial in Hudson, MI will be released at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bob's honor to St. Paul Lutheran Church, MOST Ministries (https://www.mostministries.org), or Wounded Warriors (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
