Robert B. Redmond, 76, of Orange, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, at his home.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Frank and Florence Faux Redmond. He was a graduate of Dallas High School. After high school, he went on to serve our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Robert was the owner and operator of RB Redmond Logging for over 50 years and the Kandle Lite Lounge of Trucksville for over 20 years.
Robert was a Franklin Twp. supervisor for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting and watching football and westerns. He was a member of the Daddow Isaacs American Legion Post 672 in Dallas.
Preceding him in death were a longtime companion, Ann McAvoy; sisters, Joy Daubert, Florence Atkinson and Violet Stoss; and brothers, Frank Redmond Jr., the Rev. Arthur Redmond, Woodring Redmond, Ralph Redmond and Joseph Redmond.
Surviving are his children, Melissa Iddings, Tunkhannock; Amy (Arthur) Major, Lehman Twp., Robert (Tracie) Redmond, Dallas; Bruce Redmond, Dallas; grandchildren, J.R. Redmond, Maci Iddings, Madyson Redmond, Leo Cadia and Bradly Redmond; stepchildren, Kara Bobeck and Kelly Brunges (Julio), all of Orange; sister, Linda Scott, Orange; and former wife and longtime friend, Dawn Redmond.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Carrie Granche of Orange United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Exeter Twp. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
