Robert Louis "Bob" Ploog, 94, passed away in his sleep on March 12, 2021 in Madison, WI. He went to be in heaven with our Lord and his beloved wife, Dorothy. Bob was born August 19th, 1926 in Chicago IL, to Mary and Harry Ploog. He was a loving husband, and father of four children. Bob was kind, generous, smart and ambitious. Above all, he was a true gentleman. He had a passion for aviation, car racing, sailing and photography. He loved to travel and go on cruises. He boasted shortly before his death that he could still talk politics and aviation, and he honestly could.
He served his county in the Navy. He spent most of his career in plant management. He retired from Scott Forge corporation as a plant manager in Clinton Wisconsin, and served the company as vice president. After his retirement, he remained on the board for many years.
Bob is survived by his two sons, Barry and Pete; daughter, Heidi Ammerman; grandchildren, Cristen Jones and Lindsay McAllister; and his great-grandchildren, Robert Henry Jones and Hattie Grace Jones. Bob Ploog is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; his stepfather, Sherman Demore; and his son, Jim.
A celebration of life event will take place this summer.
