Robert Omura, of Honolulu, passed away on April 30, 2022, at the age of 89. He was born in Hawi, Kohala, Hawaii. Bob graduated from Kohala High and Elementary and Springfield College in Springfield, MA. He retired in 1981 from the University of Hawaii as a Youth Development Research Coordinator. He created B & R Educational Services, an educational behavioral services company, and opened and operated the Mod Reading Nook, a summer reading program for children. In retirement, Bob resumed his childhood passion for playing the harmonica. He began to teach which lead to the formation of the Small World Harmonica Band. Bob was predeceased by Betty, his wife of 63 years. He is survived by sons Leslie (Grace) and Larry; grandchildren Katie (Dan) Mack and Robbie (Mayuko); one great-grandchild; brother George. Private services were held. The family requests no koden or flowers.
