Robert "Travis" Miller Sr., born on January 28,1931 in Houston, Texas, passed away on December 29, 2024. He was the beloved son of Hugh McCormick Miller Sr. and Marjorie Ellen Travis Miller. Travis was preceded in death by his brother, Hugh McCormick Miller Jr.
Travis earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston. While at U of H, he was in USAF ROTC followed by military service with the U.S. Army. Travis experienced a distinguished 30+ year career with Brown & Root Industrial Services. He was a dedicated professional and a cherished colleague.
Travis loved flying. After several decades of piloting, Travis decided to share his passion for aviation with others and became a flight instructor...which eventually became a business where he rented planes to his students and other pilots.
His second passion was golf. He loved the game, he loved the competition, and he loved the camaraderie the game offered.
Travis is survived by his loving family: Thelma Judice Miller, his wife of 50 years; his children, Camilla (and Bobby) Craft of Houston, TX, Richard Travis (and Vivian) Miller of Dickenson, TX, Robert Travis (and Pam) Miller Jr. of Fort Worth, TX, and Suzanne (and Edward) Steketee of Red Feather Lakes, CO. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Travis's legacy of love, dedication, and hard work will be remembered by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Plantersville, Texas.
