Robert Maurice May was born in 1927 in Chicago, IL to Herbert and Betty May. He passed away on Sept 21, 2020, after an eight year battle with Parkinson's disease. In the 1930s, Bob's family moved to South Florida where he attended Dania Elementary, graduating from South Broward High School in 1945, and then enlisting in the Army during World War II. He graduated with a Business degree from Florida State University in 1950 and subsequently started his business, May Plumbing Company, as a mechanical, heating and air-conditioning contractor. Bob was a life-long Seminole fan and booster. He married Suzanne Goldberg in 1956 after only two dates and they raised four children in Hollywood. Bob was a proud member of the Kiwanis Club, a 60 year member of the Masons, and was President of the Florida Mechanical Contractors Association. After Bob's retirement in the 1990s, he and Suzanne moved to Alpharetta, Georgia. Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Suzanne, daughters Laura (Neil) Miller, Debbie (Jim) Futch, Diane (Jon) Kaplan, son David (Emy) May, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Laurayne Gordon. Following cremation, a private memorial service will be held for the immediate family in Georgia.
