Robert John Leader

Robert John Leader, 66, of Mishawaka, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in South Bend Memorial Hospital. Robert was born in South Bend, IN on June 25, 1956, to John J. Leader and Sue (Metzger) Leader. He is survived by his wife Kenna (Kovach) and his children, Ryan (Ashley) Leader and Lindsay (Jeffery) Haupt; stepdaughter, Christina Grace (Rick) Borkowski; and his sisters, Pam Barber, Kim (Wil) Horn, Kelli (Jim) Bryan, 5 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beth Kaehr.

Robert proudly served in the United States Army National Guard. In 2004 he deployed to Iraq for one year as a member of the 194th Combat Engineer Brigade, Tennessee National Guard and retired from the Guard as a Sergeant First Class.

Visitation will be 2 pm-4 pm on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 10, 2022, in the funeral home with Reverend Bob Vale officiating. Robert will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery.
