Robert Edward Lawrence, 81, of Manchester, died on June 12, 2021, after a period of failing health. Bob was born in Manchester on March 8, 1940, the son of Vernon Edward Lawrence and Dorothy (Campbell) Lawrence.
Bob was predeceased by his loving wife, Georgette (Vallee) Lawrence, and his stepdaughter Cathy Leggett and and stepson Paul Levesque. Bob is survived by his stepdaughter, Claudette Levesque of Webster, and Christine Stiasny of Manchester.
And predecesed by his brother in law and sister, Robert and Tydee Ludwig, and their two children Kathleen (Ludwig)Gobin and Gary Ludwig.
Bob retired from working for 12 years as an assembler for Allen-Bradley and 10 years for the Sheraton Wayfarer where he met his wife Georgette. Sports were his passion. Bob spent 38 years coaching youth sports in Manchester, but 50 years altogether. He was the co-founder of the Manchester Vikings, where he coached for 15 years. He then became involved with Pony League Baseball, Boy Club Basketball, Memorial High School Football and Manchester East Cobras Football. Bob also coached the floor hockey team Manchester Flyers for many years. When Bob and Georgette moved out to Deering he also coached many teams there including the Mondanock Mountaineers. Bob was also the proud recipient of Manchester Jay Cee's Outstanding Young Man of New England in 1974 & 1975. His greatest love was sports and mentoring young people. He loved being called "Coach". During the off seasons, Bob loved camping, especially at Oxbow, gardening and just enjoying the outdoors, and playing jarts with family.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday June 24,2021 from 4-7 pm at Durning Bykowski & Young Funeral Home in Manchester, New Hampshire
