Robert Benedict "Ben" Kelker Jr. 83 of Greenwood, IN passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN. He was born August 9, 1936 in Huntington, Indiana to Robert B. Kelker and Vesta (Haynes) Kelker. He married Constance "Connie" M. (Daub) Kelker on August 25, 1962 in Fort Wayne, IN, she survives. He was a 1955 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School and attended Purdue University and the University of Notre Dame. He was a United States Army Veteran having served as a Paratrooper. He worked with his son in the mortgage business with the Highland Mortgage Group and previously worked with farmers selling farm equipment for BEFCO and LELY for 20 years which was his passion. He enjoyed making rosaries for prisoners, wood working, landscaping, working with his hands, writing, science, social settings and conversing in coffee shops. Survivors include his wife Constance "Connie" M. (Daub) of Greenwood, IN, son Lorne G. Kelker (Gina) of Greenwood, IN., daughters Kristina M. LaFleur of Greenwood, IN, Kimberly D. Wilson (Dean) of Bargersville, IN, Eileen M. Hambrick (Ron) of Bradenton, FL, and Renee L. Lykins (Fred) of Greenwood, IN., brothers Joe Kelker ( Mary Ellen) of Norman, OK, and Mike Kelker (Sue) of Huntington, IN, and a sister Mary Ann Fairchild (Bob) of Easley, South Carolina, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, six nieces and sixteen nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Edward B. Kelker, brother John Kelker, and a sister Marge Smith. Father Stephen W. Giannini will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday at 2PM at Saints Francis and Clare Catholic Church 5901 Olive Branch Road in Greenwood, IN. with a visitation from 12 Noon till service time at the church. Inurnment will take place at the Resurrection Garden Columbarium at Saints Francis and Clare Catholic Church.
