Roberta 'Jayne' Puls Steele, 86, of McKinney, Texas and formerly of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on February 23, 2021. She was born in Dayton, Ohio to Bob and Mary (Teeguarden) Puls. Jayne grew up in Dayton until her family moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1952 and shortly after moved to Tulsa with her family. Jayne graduated from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickisha, Oklahoma in 1956 with a degree in Physical Education. She began her teaching career in Duncan, Oklahoma and later taught at Bell and Monroe Junior High Schools in Tulsa. Jayne married her husband of 57 years, Jerry Wilson Steele on August 19, 1958 at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. She loved to swim and was a member of a synchronized swim team in college. Jayne also worked many summers as a camp counselor and lifeguard. She was an active member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Chancel Choir, Bell Choir, and the Treblemakers. Jayne had a great sense of humor and her quick wit and laughter will be missed.
She is survived by her sons, Brian (Carol) and Bruce (Laura); daughter, Becky (Harold) McLeod; grandchildren, Stewart (Ashley), Riley, David, and Beth; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
Jayne was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Steele; brother, Dr. Jerry L. Puls; and parents, Bob and Mary Puls.
