Bob was a graduate of Clemson, a US Army veteran, and retired after a successful career with textile company West Point-Pepperell. After retirement, he served as a Meals on Wheels volunteer in Anderson. He raised chickens as a child during the Great Depression and was an avid baseball player in his younger days. Later, he enjoyed golf, gardening, family trips to the beach, and creating drawings and watercolor paintings as gifts for family and friends. Most of all, he was a loving father and husband, and will be especially remembered for the care and devotion he gave to his wife Smokey during her long and heartbreaking decline into Alzheimer's Disease.
