In loving memory of Robert "Bob" Arthur Gill, who passed away June 3, 2023, after a brief battle with lung cancer. He died peacefully and surrounded by his close family.
Bob is predeceased by his sister, Patricia Sneddon, and his parents, William Albert Gill Jr. and Bonita Gladys Ward. He is survived by his brother, Ward Gill (Sharon) of Fernandina Beach, FL, his daughter, Jody Wertz (Dean) of Needmore, PA, his son, Bobby Gill (Julie) of Denver, CO, his daughter, Katie Mason (Sam) of Edmonds, WA, six grandchildren, Henry, Lillie, Maisie, Emma, Mollie, and Ivy, one niece, and three nephews.
A proud family man, Bob's greatest achievements in life were his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed every second he spent with his family and was always present when they needed him the most.
Bob was a graduate of Bowie High School, a member of the class of 1968. He enjoyed staying in touch and nourishing lifelong friendships with his former classmates.
A resident of Maryland for over 50 years, he earned a degree from Montgomery College and ran his own lawn care and home inspection businesses. He also worked as a construction manager for the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission for over a decade.
Bob spent many years traveling about, combing the beaches of the Atlantic Coast and backpacking through Europe.
He often volunteered for various charities and community projects, and briefly served as commissioner of Beltsville Adelphi Boys & Girls Club.
He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held at Borgwardt Funeral Home (4400 Powder Mill Rd., Beltsville, MD 20705) Tuesday, June 13th at 11:00am.
