Robert H. Dreyer passed away Sunday, May 23 after a recent cancer diagnosis. Robert is survived by his wife, Joy House-Dreyer of the home; son, Mike Dreyer of Cedar City, UT; daughter Tracy Campbell and husband Duane of Edmond, OK; and a sister Justine Hoel of Oklahoma City. Other survivors include Lindsay and Denise Ward, sons Greg and Bryan and Sheri House Palomo of Bell Buckle,TN, a nephew, Rob, and two nieces, Debbi and Catha.
Robert served in WWII and Korea and spent time in the Navy and Air Force. Robert earned his BS in Geology from Oklahoma City University in 1951. He continued his education at Wichita State University, while working towards his Master's degree. Robert worked for Gulf Oil for 25 years, then worked as a Consultant for 15 years working in the Texas, Oklahoma panhandles and in Kansas. Robert was a member of the Panhandle Geological Society and a member of Society of Well Log Analysts. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amarillo. Robert loved fly fishing, fly tying, was an avid handball player and later in life loved going to the gym and riding his bike. He also enjoyed playing golf at Lake Tanglewood, where he was a volunteer firefighter. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 5 PM, Wednesday, May 26th at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Roberts Homecoming services will be Thursday, May 27, 2021 beginning at 2 PM at the Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Room of Life in the Memorial Park East Mausoleum.
