Bob was a Korean War veteran. Following high school, Robert enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, where he proudly served his country from 1952 to 1955.
He was employed by the former Beloit Corporation, later known as Harnischfeger, where he worked as a maintenance supervisor. He was there 39 years until his retirement in 1994.
Bob enjoyed sports of all kinds, including golf, but was especially a diehard fan of the NY Yankees. After retirement, he looked forward to spending winters in Port Charlotte, FL with his sister and brother-in-law.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, the former Marie Pinney, whom he married on October 27, 1955. He leaves behind their children, Lori D. Donaldson (Tom), Guy Thomas Davis (Sheila), and Lawrence Davis (Susan), as well as his grandchildren, Robert and Michael and his great grandson, Oliver. Bob is also survived by his sister, Annette Hine, 5 nieces, and 4 nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Lawrence and Lee Paul Davis.
His family would like to thank the staff at Mount Greylock Extended Care who were involved with his care, and his "outdoor club" that met daily when the sun was shining and exchanged snacks and fun talks.
Thank you to the staff at Berkshire Medical Center, where a special angel worked. Also, thank you to family, friends, and HospiceCare in the Berkshires for their unconditional love and support.
