Robert Haywood “Bobby” Davenport, Jr., 72, of Dover, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Haywood Davenport, Sr. and Louise Sumrell Davenport, and brother, Edward Dixon “Peanut” Davenport.
Bobby was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed his work as a farmer and loved hunting, fishing on the river, and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Corbett Davenport, of the home; daughters, Nichole Davenport Coughlan and husband, Terence, of Hillsborough and Ashley Davenport of Dover; grandchildren, Maeve Louise Coughlan and Eamon Patrick Coughlan; brother, David Kent Davenport and wife, Sheri, of Dover; nephews, Matthew Reid Davenport, David Ross Davenport, and Andrew Dixon Davenport, and many other special family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maynard Children’s Hospital, 2100 Stantonsburg Road, Greenville, North Carolina 27834 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
