Robert Hartson Cheney
Family Man
ROBERT HARTSON CHENEY "BOB", 71, of Rotonda West, FL, formerly of Cincinnati, OH, passed away and went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with lung disease, March 28, 2012, surrounded by loving family members in Englewood, FL. "Bob" was born Dec. 18, 1940, in Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Fulmer.
He resided in Ohio most of his life and retired in Florida seven years ago. He will be remembered as a kind-hearted man with "quirky" sense of humor. He was a faithful and loving husband, a very supportive and encouraging dad who always knew "just the right thing to say," a supportive brother and a loyal friend to many. He loved to spend time spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He believed family was more important than any material objects. He found great happiness in insignificant details. He was a pilot and businessman. He had a lifelong love of airplanes and flying, was an avid photographer (especially sunsets, nature and most of all family), enjoyed hiking (he once hiked up Mount Lecomte), bow-hunting (with dear friends) along with gardening and harvesting his own fruits and vegetables. He was a very proud member of the Son's of the American Revolution.
