Robert "Bob" George Carlson, 85, of Alexis, NC passed away peacefully on Friday May 12, 2023. Bob was born August 9, 1937 in Janesville, Wisconsin to the late Lydia (Kessler) and Axel H. Carlson. Bob lived an active life and enjoyed working. Bob was a supervisor at Valmet, a Paper Machine Manufacturing Facility, and in his later years worked as a maintainer at Hillcrest Garden Cemetery in Mount Holly, North Carolina - retiring at the age of 79. Bob loved to work with his hands. He enjoyed carpentry and making all types of wood crafts. Bob was a dedicated gardener who was happy to give away fruits and vegetables. He also liked to hunt, fish, and go elk watching. Bob affected many lives with his kind spirit and his steadfast love, and he will be missed by many.
In addition to his parents, his loving and devoted wife, Deanna (Leonhard) Carlson, precedes Bob in death. Bob's sons, John Carlson, Todd Carlson, and Timothy Carlson, have also gone on before him. His sister, Anna Dean and brothers John Carlson, Dan Carlson and Henry "Hank" Carlson have also passed as well and three of his grandchildren and two of his great-grandchildren.
Bob leaves behind his son, Dana Carlson of Colorado Springs, CO and his stepchildren Cindy Burrow and her husband Gray of Beloit, WI, Susan Musselman and her husband Jeffery of West Lawn, PA, Jodi Marshall and her husband Mike of Gaffney, SC, Curtis Albrecht of Bolingbrook, IL, Mark Albrecht of Gastonia, NC and Mike Albrecht of Louisville, KY. His legacy includes 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A tomb side service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday May 26, 2023 at The Hillcrest Garden's Mausoleum, 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Highway, Mount Holly, North Carolina.
