Robert Dana Bruce, 93, passed away at his home Monday July 13, 2020 after a long battle with Cancer. He was born in Enfield, NH on February 17, 1927 to Olive (Morse) and Rufus Bruce. On his 17th birthday Robert enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country during World War II with the rank of Coxswain at separation. After his return he married Esther Elizabeth Buckwold. Robert was a well-known Contractor, constructing homes, commercial properties, and churches all over the Upper Valley and even building four of the family's homes.
Robert never took vacations but found time to race snowmobiles and raise and show horses (mostly Morgans). He was a loyal Patriots fan and followed NASCAR and Jeff Gordon.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Dona (Chris) Staley of Windham, NH; son, Jason (Carol) Bruce of Copperas Cove, TX; 8 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Betty (Archie) Eastman of Enfield, NH.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Olive Bruce; wife, Esther Bruce, who passed January 13, 2020; sons, Dana Bruce, Scott Bruce, and Maxwell Bruce; and brother, John R. Bruce.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service for Robert and Esther at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the Wells Cemetery in Canaan, NH. Military funeral honors will follow.
