Robert L. Brockel, 55, Browns Valley, MN, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.
A Celebration of Life service will be held June 5, from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the City Lights in Aberdeen. The Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt is in charge of the arrangements.
Robert Lee Brockel was born April 30, 1966, to Theadore and Donna (Weber) Brockel in Aberdeen, SD. He earned his GED from Aberdeen Central High School.
After finishing school, Bob worked at multiple jobs before finding his niche in asphalt construction. He was also an excellent welder and metal fabricator. In 2019, he was forced into early retirement. Bob was also well known in Browns Valley as the snow removal guy.
Bob loved tinkering with cars and fixing things. He built several cars over the years from the ground up. He also fabricated and sold many items in his garage. Bob and Vickie traveled to Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Missouri. Bob loved being a grandfather and after retirement turned into a crazy cat man.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Brockel of Browns Valley; sons, Marty (Alexis Hauge) Voeller of Aberdeen, Justin Brockel of Browns Valley, Sean Brockel of Browns Valley; daughter, Brittany (Ryan) Schutz of Litchfield, MN; grandchildren, Xavior, Robert, Zanetta, Paizley, Brooklyn, and Easton; brother, Donald (Melanie) Brockel of Aberdeen; and sister, Tammy (Dan) Manz of Aberdeen.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Donna; sister, Tina; brother, Billy; and niece, Sandra.
