HOOSICK, NY - Robert Rudd Breese, 94, died peacefully, Saturday, September 25, 2021, at his home in Breese Hollow. He was born March 20, 1927 in Bennington, VT to the late Harry and Belle (Rudd) Breese.
He is survived by his wife Roberta (Shaw) Breese, son Robin (Beverly) Breese and daughter Bonnie Schipisch, 2 grandsons David & Garrett Breese and 4 great-grandchildren, Aidan, Orion, Alaina and Evelyn.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife M. Barbara (Dunham) in 1985, son Paul Breese, son-in-law John Schipisch, 2 sisters Jane Rydberg and Isabelle Marshall and a brother Alex Breese.
A WWII veteran, he was granted an early high school graduation from Bennington High in order to enlist in the US Navy in 1944. He served on the USS Tarawa, the last aircraft carrier built for WWII, until the end of the war. Upon discharge from the military he attended Cobleskill College and graduated with a degree in agriculture.
A life-long dairy farmer in Breese Hollow, he received the Conservation Farmer of the Year Award in 1963.
He was a member of the Hoosick Volunteer Fire Department, receiving the 65 year service award and a fire commissioner from 1995-2017.
A man of faith, he was a longtime member and vestryman at All Saints Church in Hoosick and most recently a member of St. Luke's Church in Cambridge.
He was also an avid reader, stamp collector and model train hobbyist.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service at the Hoosick Rural Cemetery on Saturday, October 2nd at 11:00 AM.
