Robert L. Bradley, 88, of Lexington, KY, husband of Ruth Elaine Smith Bradley died Tuesday, February 6, 2024. He was born in Danbury, CT the son of the late Wilbur and Florence E. Mulkin Bradley. Robert was a graduate of Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, VA where he received his B.A. in 1957; he received his B.D. from the Lexington Theological Seminary in 1963; he was ordained July 31, 1960 in the Central Christian Church, Danbury, Ct. Robert served a pastor for several churches. In Roanoke he served at the Westhampton Christian Church from 1965to 1978. His major interests in the ministry were with people who lived on the margins of life. Robert enjoyed many hobbies that included cooking, bread baking, gardening, singing and RV traveling. In his ministry he loved: Planning and conducting worship, helping people find their calling, enabling leaders to do their best and grow, singing the traditional music of the church, working with and helping people with their problems and community involvement in helping homeless ministries. Robert was preceded in death by a brother Richard W. Bradley. Arrangements for Robert are entrusted to Milward Funeral Directors. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 13th at Central Christian Church located at 205 E. Short St., Lexington, KY 40507 with visitation one hour prior to services at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Lexington Theological Seminary, 230 Lexington Green Circle, Lexington, KY 40503.
