Robert Bowie, Jr. was born January 29, 1952, to the late Ida Mae and Robert Bowie, Sr. He was baptized at Mt. Moriah-East Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Melvin Charles Smith. He was a member of the Male Chorus and occasionally sang with the Concert Choir.
Robert graduated from Booker T. Washington in 1970 and attended State Tech. Robert discovered his gift, the talent of a dental technician. He worked for 20 years at Denton's Dental Laboratory as the manager in the Crown & Bridge Department. He took a leap of faith in 1992 and started his own business, Cosmetic Dental Lab.
Robert loved cars from antique trucks to fast sports cars and was a member of the Beale Street Corvette Club. He had 3 children, Carl (Tiua) Bowie, Ebonye (Kevin) Reed, and Jasmyn Bowie. Robert was blessed with a heart of gold and never met a stranger. His warm and friendly personality drew many, many friends and people who loved him.
He worked tirelessly to meet the demands of being a perfectionist in creating million-dollar smiles. He worked 15 hours on the day of his passing until his heart gave out in the ER, and the Lord took him home to rest.
In addition to the above-named family, he leaves to mourn his passing, a sister, Beverly Shannon; aunt, Robbie Martin; six grandchildren Jada, Stormye, & Chlos Bowie, Arree Green, Honesty Jones, and Carress (Brandon) Henderson; a host of loving cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews and a ton of special friends.
