Bob Owens, loving husband, father and friend, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, August 1, 2020, after his brave battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Bob was born in Dallas on August 19, 1949, to Robert and Oletta. He graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School and North Texas State University. He married Vickie Dauterive, whom he dearly loved and cherished for 40 years. Together they were devoted to their two children, Aimi and Kyle. Bob began his career working alongside his father in their jewelry and loan business. After many successful decades running this business, he decided that it was time for a change and he became a beloved local banker. Bob's joyful, fun-loving personality was the very reason for his successes in business and in life. Customers, fellow employees, and friends were always greeted with a smile and a joke, and Bob had a heart-felt, sincere concern for everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law James Dauterive, and his precious daughter Aimi. Bob is survived by his loving wife Vickie and son Kyle, mother-in-law Marjorie Dauterive; sister Carol Stryker and her husband Garvin and their family; brother-in-law Richard Dauterive and his wife Patty and their family; and his sister-in-law Teri Tucker and her husband John and their family. Bob demonstrated I Corinthians 13:4-8 each and every day. His patience, kindness, honesty, humility, generosity, and humor will be missed by all who loved and called him family and friend. Friends are welcome to join the family at a graveside service, which will be held Friday, August 7th at 11 a.m. at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave. Masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Feed Lake Highlands through Lake Highlands United Methodist Church.
