COLUMBIA, SC A memorial service for Robert Francis Benson, 81, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Benson died Thursday, March 31, 2022. Born in New Castle, PA, he was a son of the late William and Anna Gallagher Benson. He retired as a manager at UPS and was employed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of S.C. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Kliment Benson; sons, Robert Benson (Cheryl) of New Castle, PA; grandsons, Matthew, Nicholas, Jacob; son, Mark Benson of New Castle; granddaughters, Caitlyn, Abby; sister-in-law, Agnes Benson; nieces, Lori Barrante, Sharon Wolfe; nephews, Craig Benson, Scott Benson. He was predeceased by a daughter, Ashlea Benson and brothers, William and John Benson.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Lexington Medical Center for their wonderful care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ukrainian Relief through the American Red Cross.
