Robert E. Barber, 83, of Barneveld and formerly of Tiffin, OH, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at his home, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on November 27, 1936 in the family home in Wellston, OH, the son of Dorace and Bernice (Partlow) Barber. Bob proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1962. He was employed as an inspector and in quality control with Pettibone in Rome. On June 24, 1977, he was united in marriage to Geraldine D. Shepard at Floyd Methodist Church and shared a blessed union of 43 years. Bob was a member of both the American Legion Post #169 and the AMVETS Post 48, both in Tiffin, OH.
He was a die-hard sports fan and exclusively followed the Ohio State Buckeye's, NY Giants and the Cleveland Indians. Bob also enjoyed to watch and play golf.
Surviving are his wife, Gerri, Barneveld; daughters, Deborah Barber, Floyd, Cheryl (Bob) Guenther, Bristol, CT and Roxanne (Jim) Kervin, Ohio, NY; step-daughter, Lori (Max) Lopes, Houston, TX; step-son, Keith Broskay, Katy, TX; grandchildren, Rob (Jackie) Fallon, Nicole (Keith Simpson) Fallon, Melissa (Tim) Aiello, Katie (Brenton) Eckstrom, Christine (Mark) Miller, Robert Kervin, Hannah, Ethan and Nathan Lopes, Chase, Gwen and Andrew Broskay and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Joanne Morrison; infant brothers, Dorace, Jr. and Charles Barber and brother, Paul Barber.
Bob's family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Hospice & Palliative Care, for their wonderful care and compassion.
In keeping with Bob's wishes, there will be no public services. Graveside services will be private for the family in Townsend Cemetery. Arrangements are with Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 7944 Steuben St., Holland Patent.
