Robert Bruce Cathcart, 84, of Leesburg, FL, passed into Glory on December 23, 2019 at Cornerstone Hospice in Tavares, FL, surrounded by his family. He was born in Bayonne, NJ, on July 31, 1935 to Clifford and Harriett Cathcart. He graduated from Harvard Business School in Boston, MA, and worked in the food industry where he specialized in product development and quality assurance.
Upon retiring in Leesburg, he ventured into a partnership called the Three Amigos Pro Shop for the Fiesta Bowl in Lady Lake. He was also a dedicated volunteer for Hospice. Robert enjoyed football, traveling, boating and fishing. Most of all, he was known for his deep love of family and friends and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Jane (nee Aube) and his 3 children: Cynthia Gabriele of The Villages, Cheryl Lynch (Jeffrey) of Leesburg, and Scott (Jennifer) of Wesley Chapel, FL. He has one surviving sister, Nancy Baron (John) of Brunswick, GA. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Riley.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Good News Church, 400 Executive Boulevard, Leesburg, FL, on January 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cornerstone Hospice at 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
