Robert A. Angiletta, 83, husband of Mary (Hobbs/Szymaszek) Angiletta, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Hospital of Central CT, surrounded by his family. He was born November 22, 1938 in Meriden, a son of the late George and Louise (Stumpf) Angiletta. He attended Wilcox High School and served proudly in the U.S. Navy. After serving in the Navy, he returned home to Meriden and worked at Stagon's TV/Radio Repair and Package Store for many years. He went on to work as the office manager for Dan Szymaszek & Sons until retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter that he enjoyed sharing with his sons and grandsons. Some of his most favorite times were deep sea fishing from his boat and charter boats, and let's not forget the casino's (all of them).
In addition to his wife Mary of 49 years, his is survived by his son Robert (Mimi) Angilletta, eleven step-children, Michael Szymaszek, Kathleen Montano, Daniel Szymaszek(Karen), Patricia (Brian) Caldwell, Marcia (Lawrence) Iben, Stephen (Joyce) Szymaszek, Mary McIntyre, Thomas (Tammi) Szymaszek, Carolyn Szymaszek, Joseph (Andrea) Szymaszek & Ellen (John) MacDougall. His is also survived by his 24 grandchildren, Brandon & Shawn Angiletta, Heather, Ashley, Joseph, Jared, Marisa, Christopher, Meghan, Matthew, Jeremy, Adam, Patrick, Daniel, Kelly, Kevin, Danielle, Michelle, Justin, Olivia, Emma, Cole, Luke, Alison, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Norma Milano, Dolores Zenuh and Betty Angiletta and a brother Frederick Angiletta.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 11 a.m., at St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron St., Meriden, CT, everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Ann St., Meriden. Relatives and friends may call at Wallingford Funeral Home 809 North Main St Ext., Wallingford, CT, on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 5-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O.
