Rita Marie Hoefler

Rita Marie Hoefler, 64, of Flovilla, GA, wife of Robert A. Martinez, Jr., died Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital.

Born in Altoona, PA, March 19, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Gerald Joseph Hoefler and Margaret Marie Piper Hoefler. Rita earned an associate's degree in accounting from South Hills Business School in State College, PA. She worked for many years as a merchandizer until her health declined. She enjoyed the goat farm that she and her husband built and have tended for over twenty years and loved all animals, especially her donkey, Jill. She loved to make jewelry, shop at the thrift store and go out to eat.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by a sister, Cecelia LaHive.

Surviving in addition to her husband of thirty-four years are her child, Krista Nicole Martinez of Jackson; sister, Stephanie Scheeler and husband Max; brothers, Jeffrey Hoefler and wife Sandy and William Hoefler, all of Altoona, PA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service for Rita Marie Hoefler will be conducted Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home.
