Mr. Rickey Gene "Rick" Zena, age 62, of Madison, Indiana, formerly of Fort Smith, Arkansas entered this life on November 7, 1959 in Fort Hood, Texas. He was the loving son of the late Benny and Wanda Merryman Zena. He resided most of his life in Fort Smith, Arkansas and went to school there. He also attended trade school later. He was raised in the Baptist faith and enjoyed all sports, fishing, coaching softball, and was an avid Razorback fan. He worked for eight years with Anderson Moving Company. He was awaiting the birth of another grandchild at the time of his death. Rick held membership in the Sons of the American Legion and the Sons of the VFW. Rick died on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 1:45 a.m. at the Norton King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Rick will be missed by his loving daughters, Shanda Thompson and her husband, Brandon of Barling, Arkansas, Brittany Short and her husband, Bryan of Arkoma, Oklahoma, Tiffany Zena of Rogers, Arkansas, Colleen Fariss of Fort Smith, Arkansas; his loving sons, Joe Zena and his wife, Leisa of Empire, Alabama, Justin Herd of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Jobe Triado of Fort Smith, Arkansas; his companion of 25 years, LeAnne Lee of Madison, Indiana; his grandchildren, Xandria, Erynn, Symin, Andru, Dixi, Daizi, Rhett, Blue, Corey, Heather, Zachary, Skotlynn, Ezequiel; his great grandchildren, Kylie, Kinsley, Zaiden, Emma, Emery; his sisters, Sheila Standley and her husband, Don of Webb City, Missouri, Deborah Cole of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Cathy Zena of Fort Smith, Arkansas; his brother, Rocky Zena and his wife, Dena of Fort Smith, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Benny Zena and his mother, Wanda Merryman Zena.
Rick preferred cremation with a celebration of life to be held on Saturday, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., June 11, 2022 at Arkansas Retired Military Association, 1444 North Greenwood Avenue, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
