Richard W. "Rick" Wyman, 64, a resident of Plaistow for the past fifteen years, died peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family and following an extended illness.
Born in Lynn, MA, son of the late Arthur H. Wyman and the late Arlene (Hanley) (Wyman) Snow, he was raised and educated in Georgetown, MA, and was a member of the Georgetown High School Class of 1974, where he was the goalie for the Varsity Hockey Team. As a young man, he was a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Georgetown Erie 4. He later joined the U.S. Air Force and trained as a firefighter before his discharge.
Rick was employed as a network engineer for twenty-six years at J.P. Morgan Co., and more recently as a pack room attendant at Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital in Portsmouth, NH for three years.
He was devoted to his family, especially his grand-children and his large menagerie of feline friends. He was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots and also enjoyed motorcycling as a member of the North Hampton Harley Owners Group. For many years, he also enjoyed downhill skiing across New England and other parts of the country.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of fourteen years, Lesli C. (Turlick) Wyman, a son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Halia Wyman of Holyoke, MA, a daughter and son-in-law, Emily and James Rocci of New Bedford, MA, two brothers, Robert A. Wyman and his wife Beth of Georgetown, MA and U.S. Army Sgt. First Class Christopher P. Wyman and his wife Shannon of Fort Bragg, NC, a sister, Diane (Wyman) (Newnan) MacLeod and her husband Bruce, of Windham, three grandchildren Grayson Rocci, Lilah Wyman and Arthur Wyman and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a nephew Brian Newnan and a great-nephew Matthew Newnan.
Services were held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow.
